Pediatric Dentistry

About the service

A child’s first dental visits are as much about getting comfortable as they are about teeth. We take things slowly, explain what we are doing in words children understand, and let parents stay close by.

Children’s appointments cover checkups and cleanings, fluoride treatments and sealants where they are recommended, and advice on brushing, diet and habits such as thumb-sucking. We also keep an eye on how the adult teeth are coming in, and let you know if a referral to an orthodontist might be worth considering.

Many dentists suggest a first visit once the first tooth appears, or by a child’s first birthday. If you are not sure when to start, ask us.
